Friday, July 15th, 2011

The traditional Newburgh Coble Boat Race on the River Tay will be held on the 13th of August 2011 as part of the heritage day celebrations. Further details can be found at http://www.smartcommunityfife.org.uk/news/article/newburgh-celebrates-its-heritage. There will local food stalls, various activities for children and a new event, a hill race over ‘the bear hill’ (Lindores Hill). The Reaper, an old herring fishing boat, will sail round from Antruther and will open to the public. There will be boat trips on the river as well as the chance for experienced rowers to take part in the double handed Coble Boat Race. The event will officially open at 2pm. There is no entry charge but a donation will be welcomed to help cover costs.
