Newburgh Highland Games Cancelled for 18/06/11

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

The Newburgh Games Committee met at Robbie’s Park at 7.30 and reluctantly decided to cancel the games today due to the ongoing bad weather. We think it is unlikely that we’ll get enough spectators to make the games viable today. We’re actively looking for another date for this year’s event and will post that up here as soon as a date is agreed.

Weather not Looking Good for 18/06/11

Friday, June 17th, 2011

The Newburgh Games committee have just had a meeting at the games park to discuss whether tomorrow’s games should go ahead or not. The weather forecast is not looking good but sometimes the weather fronts move over faster than expected and Newburgh does have its own distinct ‘micro-climate’. We’re meeting again early tomorrow morning to decide if  the games go ahead or are cancelled. Please check this web site before setting off for Newburgh. We aim to have our decision posted up here by 8am on the 18th.
