2010 Highland Games a Great Succcess

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

The 2010 Highland Games were opened by this years Chieftan, Susan Mitchell. The weather was excellent, attracting even more spectators than last year. We welcomed visitors from the USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland, both as spectators and as competitors. There were 10 pipers taking part in this years Solo Piping and we were pleased to have seven competitors in the heavyweight field events. The athletics and cycling were also of the usual high standard making for exciting watching for the crowd.

The only low point of the games was an accident during the cycling with L. Oliphant being injured. The committee wish him a speedy recovery.

The games committee wish to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s Highland Games such a success.
